KANDI NARSIMLU

Kandi Narsimlu is a Hyderabad-based artist known for his figurative painting sportraying life in rural Telangana. Hailing from a village close to Siddipet in Telangana, Narsimlu has been passionate about art since his childhood. His paintings portray village scenes in striking intricacy. Rich in emotion and chromatic detail, Narsimlu’s work draws close attention to the often overlooked nuances of human expression as well as the facets of traditional jewellery and clothing that his characters adorn. Narsimlu uses lines and curves to depict the minutiae, including the vivid patterns on men’s and women’s clothing, their sharp facial features or the objects they carry, such as a slender umbrella, a beedi or a steel tiffin box. ... Narsimlu completed his BFA from JNT University, hyderabad and MFA JNAFA University, hyderabad. His works have been exhibited in several solo as well as group shows across Mumbai, New Delhi, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Singapore and New Zealand. A recipient of several awards, Narsimlu’s work features in public and private collections such as the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, Hyderabad; the State Bank of India; and the Salarjung Museum, among others.
