NAGESH GOUD

Bolgum Nagesh Goud is a gold medallist in Fine Art from Jawaharlal Nehru Technology University, Hyderabad. His work is deeply rooted in regional literature and mythology. Drawing inspiration from local textile traditions like Kalamkari and Paithani, Goud borrows craft techniques and uses familiar symbols to illustrate a visual narrative of age-old stories from the Mahabharata and the Ramayana. ... Goud's paintings often feature bold, brightly coloured faces that resemble the leather puppets of Andhra Pradesh, where he hails from. Each figure is adorned with intricate illustrations of mythological figures and scenes. Having experimented with different mediums – from acrylic and watercolours to oil pastels and ink – Goud expertly layers his canvases and presents a unique interpretation of these classical myths and their protagonists.
