Description
Emerging artist Puviyarasu Kannadasan’s pen and ink drawings capture the pristine, pastoral beauty of Tamil Nadu’s countryside. The artworks are set in his hometown Arani in Tiruvallur, where he heads off on his bike early in the mornings to capture landscapes and settings that catch his eye, along with his drawing materials and easel. The unhurried pace, deep silences and unspoilt, poetic beauty of the rural countryside comes alive in his beautifully lit, monotone landscapes. Humans do not occupy centrestage in his art but are depicted as part of the larger picture. The silhouettes of men and women at work in the paddy fields or walking against natural backdrops show them as a part of the land.
